The Problem
Over 80% of Firefighters in North America are volunteers,
many need your help
Volunteer firefighters put their lives on the line every day, on every call. There is no better example of a volunteer. Sadly, many departments are struggling to keep their doors open due to issues like inadequate funding, volunteer recruitment and retention.
Many of the volunteer fire departments protecting you are dangerously underfunded and in desperate need of your help.
Limited Training
“Let no man’s ghost return to say his training let him down”
~ Author Unknown
Your contribution to training a firefighter is one of the most powerful investments you can make. It can take up to $15,000 and 3000 hours to adequately train a volunteer firefighter. They can’t stay safe without your help.
Outdated Equipment
“Safety
doesn’t happen by accident”
~ Author Unknown
Firefighters wear protective equipment that costs upward of $15,000. Can you believe that underfunded volunteer firefighters in North America are wearing equipment that doesn’t meet current safety standards? Firefighters need heroes too – help them stay safe.
No Volunteers
“You can’t pay me to run into a fire … I volunteer”
~ Chad Sartison
At its present rate of decline, the volunteer fire service will fail. With no alternative, how can we afford to let this happen?
If you can’t afford to donate, volunteer. If you can’t afford to volunteer, please donate.
